According to research from the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom, larger doses of endorphins, the hormone that gives the feeling of well-being, are released by our body when malhamos or run in conjunction with other people. “When we do group activities, we have a feeling of love, care, affection and friendship. These feelings create a relationship of protection, able to make the person relax and enjoy the moment more than if she were to do this alone,” explains clinical psychologist Rita Romaro.

The victory is more fun

Be able to reach a target set brings a sense of overcoming. This effect is even greater when a good result is reached in the group. “People look back and realize all the effort that they have made together to achieve the goal. In addition, when the target is hit, there is always a celebration, a party, which does not happen when you train alone,” says Edson Ramalho.

The race in a group can be a means to strengthen family relationships. “Today it is very common that parents and children do not have much time to get together, and it is difficult to find an activity that can be performed by all ages and to suit all tastes. Because of this, many families form small groups racing to make a joint activity,” says fitness coach.

The relationships created in professional environments are typically more superficial because of the conversations that circle become restricted to labor issues. “The people you know at work seem to others when we see them doing activities that are more light and fun,” says psychologist Rita Romaro.
